Arts Council Oklahoma City is thrilled to announce the expansion of Art Moves, which currently brings daily art performances to popular lunchtime destinations across Oklahoma City. Going forward, Art Moves will ensure performers are not only showcasing their talents at ACOKC events, but events hosted by other organizations in the arts community.
“Oklahoma City has a plethora of not only talented artists but wonderful community organizations working to support the arts,” said Art Moves Director Chase Kerby. “By partnering with these like-minded organizations, we hope to help the OKC art scene continue to thrive.”
The expansion to other outside events will begin September 2 with the Paseo Art Walk and will continue with nearly a dozen events in the coming months. Despite the expansion to other events, Art Moves will continue bringing lunchtime entertainment from noon – 1 p.m.
“In this post-COVID world, our downtown lunchtime audience has declined, potentially due to flexible work hours and work-from-home initiatives,” said ACOKC Executive Director Angela Cozby. “To truly operationalize our mission, we decided to expand programming beyond the typical lunch performances in which Art Moves has been a success for the last 11 years. We’re excited to launch a hybrid schedule continuing your favorite downtown lunchtime performances while exploring other opportunities to bring the arts and the community together throughout OKC.”
