Opening Night, OKC’s favorite New Year’s Eve celebration produced by Arts Council Oklahoma City (ACOKC), will take place IN PERSON at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark Dec. 31, 2021. The fun starts at 7pm and ends with a fantastic fireworks extravaganza as the traditional Rising Ball ascends at midnight. Food trucks will be on hand immediately outside the gates along Mickey Mantle Drive.

“Last year’s virtual event at the ballpark went extremely well and we are excited that this year we can fill the stands with people once again to enjoy the festivities in person,” says Peter Dolese, ACOKC Executive Director.

Volunteer Event Co-Chairs Kendall Bleakley and Tom Burton are working diligently to create a lively party atmosphere to entertain the masses. “We’re bringing the same energy and quality performances to this year’s special occasion” says Bleakley.  Entertainment for the evening includes eight musical acts, muralists, the Bricktown Clowns, and a children’s area. “Along with all of the incredible entertainment, the Fireworks Finale is not one to miss!” says Burton. Adam & Kizzie will be this year’s Finale Band performing on the field as the countdown to midnight begins.

“We are excited to spend the new year with in-person attendance once again,” says Alyssa Flesher, Projects Director.  ACOKC encourages guests to wear masks, especially when entering indoor access points. “We also encourage frequent hand sanitation and social distancing,” says Flesher.

Opening Night is presented by Midfirst Bank, Inasmuch Foundation, and Gardner Tanenbaum. Wristbands are now available for purchase at your local 7-Eleven store and online. Opening Night’s kickoff event, the Finale 5K will take place Dec. 31 at 3pm. Registration is now available at artscouncilokc.com.
