Teen Arts Council Visits Symbiotic Oklahoma at OCU

March 02, 2018

As Teen Arts Council gears up to create their own collaborative artwork for this year’s Teen Arts Showcase, experiencing the positive nature of the relation between art and community is an important part of the process. With this in mind, the Teen Arts Council visited Symbiotic at the Hulsey Gallery, located within the Norick Art Center at Oklahoma City University. This exhibition showcases a collection of collaborative artworks produced by teams made up of professional and student artists, supported by local businesses, that focuses on the intrinsic connection between art and community.

This concept of bringing the arts and the community together has been the cornerstone of Arts Council Oklahoma City’s mission since the first Festival of the Arts in 1967 and continues today in each every event, program, and initiative the Arts Council takes on. Be sure to take a look at some of the Teen Arts Council members work at the Youth Art Sale at this year’s Festival of the Arts and check back soon for more details on the Teen Arts Showcase and other All Access Arts initiatives.
