Originally from South Africa, Messina is an interdisciplinary artist and educator, currently based in Oklahoma City. They graduated from the University of Cape Town (Michaelis School of Fine Art, 2009) with a major in Sculpture and travelled for a few years. Their work looks at individuals’ capacity within various systems and social structures. Current projects focus on the disruptive capabilities of fiction, with a special focus on speculative histories and world-building.

Art Moves is an Arts Council OKC initiative that provides free arts events in downtown OKC each work day from Noon-1:00. Events may include artist demonstrations or musical performances, and take place in various downtown locations. The daily line-up features a wide range of artistic mediums including musical and theater performances, live art demonstrations, short film selections, and more!
