10 years ago, Special Populations began as an arts integration program designed for children with disabilities and expanded in 2007 to include adults with disabilities and seniors. Our team of three teaching artists, representing the performing and visual arts, visit schools and daily living centers, and bring a rounded approach to the arts. Our current sites include Special Care Inc., Sequoyah Elementary School, Classen School of Advanced Studies (special needs class), Easter Seals, Metropolitan Better Living Center, and Classen Senior Center. Special Populations has recently started to include poetry and videography classes at some of its sites. Their end of the year gallery showing will be held May 7th-18th at City Arts Center.
