Arts Council of Oklahoma City Offers Free Arts Education for Teaching Artists

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Arts Council of Oklahoma City continues to provide free arts education programming for teachers in a workshop series called Teaching Artist Toolbox.

On Tuesday, Aug. 23, the Arts Council of Oklahoma City is presenting a session called “Developing Model Programs for Arts and Integrated Learning Projects” lead by Michael Eddens, the Oklahoma Arts Council’s Director for Arts Education Programs. The workshop will provide a framework for developing high impact, model programs for arts learning. Workshop attendees will learn to identify and organize effective learning goals, project activities, resource strategies and much more. Attendees will be able to turn these components into a clear and viable project proposal.

“We’re very excited to have Michael lead this workshop,” said Jennifer Barron, Community Arts Program Director. “He has a wealth of information to help attendees learn the keys to devise plans for project implementation. It’ll be great for anyone who attends.”

The workshops are free and geared toward teaching artists who provide arts education programming in Oklahoma City. The workshops will take place in the McAlpine Center’s large conference room. Register online at www.ArtsCouncilOKC.com.
