
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Arts Council of Oklahoma City invites innovative artists to apply by July 17 to be a part of the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebration, Opening Night 2010.
This alcohol-free, family-friendly New Year’s extravaganza is held 7 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31 in venues across the heart of downtown Oklahoma City and will feature artists ranging from musicians, dancers, singers, jugglers, painters and more.
To apply, submit the online application form located at www.artscouncilokc.com, along with support material (CDs, DVDs, drawings, etc.) to Opening Night Programming Committee, 400 W. California, Oklahoma City, OK 73102.
The deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, July 17.
Final selections from submitted proposals are based on artistic merit, feasibility of proposal, creativity in use of performance spaces, costuming and props. Selections are also based on suitability of proposed performance to the family-oriented event and program variety.
Opening Night 2010 Programming Committee encourages artists to think outside the box and is accepting artists in all fields of performing and visual arts. Examples include: live performances, live music, theater, comedy, dance, mime and street performers and visual art, such as exhibits, sculptures, window displays, and streets or building art.
