Art Moves, Presented by Devon, Gives a Sneak Peek at New Gallery Art

OKLAHOMA CITY – Visitors to Thursday's Art Moves, presented by Devon, will get a special sneak preview before the official opening of an art exhibit.

Ben Pendleton, a local mixed-media artist, will be at IAO Gallery to discuss the passion behind his art in his upcoming exhibit, titled "Beyond the Borders." This sneak preview, on Feb. 9 from noon to 1 p.m., will give the audience an opportunity to meet with Pendleton and learn the reason he created the work. It allows participants to discover the purpose and inspiration behind each piece.

“We always love being at IAO,” said Angela Hodgkinson, director of Art Moves, presented by Devon, a program of the Arts Council of Oklahoma City. “Last month’s artist sneak peek was really interesting and gave everyone a chance for in-depth discussion with the artist. Having the opportunity to speak with an artist about his or her work is a real treat - it's not every day that a gallery artist is around to talk about why the art was created.”

Pendleton has produced a body of mixed media work that features a combination of installation and photography. The exhibit opens Friday, Feb. 10, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the IAO Gallery.

Art Moves, presented by Devon, is a daily art program featuring artists and performers throughout the downtown area during the noon hour. It is always free and open to the public. Participants are welcome to bring lunch to the gallery.
