2011 Devon Energy Sunday Twilight Concert with Shortt Dogg
7 p.m. August 7 Myriad Gardens Grand Lawn
OKLAHOMA CITY – Get ready to dance and sing along to your favorite music this Sunday at the Arts Council of Oklahoma City’s Devon Energy Sunday Twilight Concert Series.
Shortt Dogg, an insatiable R&B and jazz band, provides tight three- and four-part vocal harmonies with funk and new-soul rhythms. The group formed in 1999 and has been performing all over Oklahoma since. Shortt Dogg, an Arts Council favorite, has performed at Opening Night and Festival of the Arts, and always has quite a crowd dancing along to their sound. The group also won the 2011 Oklahoma Gazette Woody Award for Best R&B group.
Shortt Dogg will perform on the Myriad Garden’s Grand Lawn August 7th at 7pm.
“Shortt Dogg is a very talented band, and they play the music that everyone knows and loves,” said Rachel Findley, Sunday Twilight Concert Series and Projects Director for the Arts Council of Oklahoma City. “Their concert is THE place to be on Sunday evening!”
The free concerts, sponsored by Devon Energy, will be held on the Grand Lawn of the newly-renovated Myriad Gardens. Patrons are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs, but may not have glass containers or pets.
The Sunday Twilight Concert Series will continue through August, showcasing a wide variety of music genres. The line-up is as follows:
Aug. 7 - Shortt Dogg – Variety
Aug. 14 - Flatland Travelers – Funk/Blues/Folk/Reggae
Aug. 21 - OK Chorale – Choral
Aug. 28 - Tekumbe – Latin Fusion
